More Stars

I hope to have lots of post like this one throughout this year.
And while poking around in my odd scrap box I found a wonderful "printed plaid" which immediately was made into a block and I just LOVE it.

Variable Star variation

This is the first of about 35 I am making from the Oct 2011 American Patchwork & Quilting magazine cover quilt.  Mine will be a bit different, smaller and all scrappy, but I will use blue sashing and gold setting triangles.  And they will set en pointe.  I'll be using mostly my cut stash of 2 1/2" squares for this one, I get to "shop in my shoebox" for them.

Stars in a Time Warp

I'm a bit late to this party (and a party it is) but better late than never!
Here are the first 4 finished and I have about a dozen more cut out and layin' on the felts.
I am looking at my stash in a whole new way and, rather lusting for some more fabulous new prints.
I really want at least ONE pillar print.
I am making my stars 8" (finished) in order to see more of this wonderful material.

Another Top Completed

...and ready to be sandwiched!
This was actually all done back in 2011 or 2012 but didn't have a border till today.  I couldn't decide on just what and how large etc. etc.

More fabric

Just some more fat quarters "in the 30's spirit" and one batik I could not resist.   The rose bedecked fabric below is aqua colored in background with white dots, just gorgeous and it was on sale.   The color and beauty really doesn't come through on my photos.
