More fabric

Just some more fat quarters "in the 30's spirit" and one batik I could not resist.   The rose bedecked fabric below is aqua colored in background with white dots, just gorgeous and it was on sale.   The color and beauty really doesn't come through on my photos.

Farmer's Wife 1930's Sampler - Grandmother

I never had a grandmother (both my parents parents died when they were young) but if I had I like to think she would have worn a print dress like the print in this block.

New project underway - Thirty Something

From a quilt on the cover of American Patchwork and Quilting Issue #134, June 2015, that I at first thought I (and my stash) wasn't up to.   I am now underway on it and just loving it.
Here is how I am holding my 1 1/2" squares and below it my 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" bits.

New fabrics!

Because I am working now on 2 1930's style quilts I needed a few more fabrics - don't we always?
Yesterday I was out looking for local stuff and having been looking at lots of old 1930's adds I had styles and colors in mind and found this.  Between it all it is 16 1/2 yards!

Loyal Union Sampler block

I made this block last Friday evening before I came down with a very nasty bit of flu.
It is from the Loyal Union Sampler and is called "Constance's Pride".
You can see my other LUS blocks on the page for them at the top of my blog.

8 1/2" crumb blocks

Just as an experiment I tried making larger crumb block, fully 8 1/2".   I have 4 made and what I am going to do with them is anybody's guess.  For now they are decorating a sort of screen I made at work and they are the background of my blog - for now.   Bright and cheerful they are.

Several Quilt tops

This one was called Cameo...something.  I saw a friend working on it and just had to do it myself.  My version is a bit different, being rectangular not square and with a different border.

This top will have a solid black and then a floral black border put on.  It was a 2014 Saturday Sampler.

This will have a medium dark blue border on it about 7" wide.  It is from Barbara Brackman's Borderland in Butternut & Blue book.

This quilt top still needs it's dark brown border put around it.  It is batiks and will be for hubby when it is done.    The blocks were from a 2012 Saturday Sampler.
